Resumen: | The contemporary world is facing a crowded environment, in which a growth of density becomes often an obligation in moving upward. Climbing on pre-existence, therefore, frequently becomes a way to build a new architecture. Climbing is a planning act that, from the Chinese paintings by Shen Zhou, to the works of Adalberto Libera, Carlo Mollino and Rachel Whiteread, reverberates itself in the words of Bernard of Chartres: Standing on the shoulders of giants. It is an attempt to rise, to reach altitudes always higher, but finding a new integration with the landscape, highlighting the difference between old and new, digging and standing firmly on the pre-existence. |
